Brent Maupin for U. S. Congress

All artistic forms of self expression are important. My music has provided a way for me to express myself on many different levels. My first few songs, which I wrote in 2005, were more reactionary and were about starting a non-violent yet powerful political revolution. They then evolved into songs that allowed for an emotional healing of some left over childhood issues with respect to my parents divorcing. My songs then went into self discovery as far as a breakup with a woman that I was very much in love with.  My most recent song, Stand Up America, motivates the citizens of America to stand up for themselves, get involved and demand that our federal government hold itself accountable and not simply represent the interests of a select few. I strongly encourage all people of any age to not only express themselves verbally but also through poetry, art, music or any other artistic outlet. I believe this allows for the person to simply become more of who they truly are from the inside out. And this is the key for a self empowered citizenry. It is clear to me that before a person can bring a high standard of integrity into a political office they must first bring the same into their every day life, especially in the relationship they have with their lover. Oh yes, my nickname is Moses, thus the name Moses Maupin on my CD cover, and yes that is my hand and arm lifting the lid off of the United States Capitol Building! I got the nickname of Moses back in 2001 when I was traveling through the Middle East while I was still going through the process of healing myself from cancer.
